Meryl Davis & Charlie White: Who Wants The ‘Dancing’ Title More?

Meryl Davis and Charlie White have worked together for 17 years, and now, the Olympic gold-medal winning ice dancers are facing off against each other in the ballroom on “Dancing with the Stars.”

The Olympic duo stopped by Access Hollywood Live on Tuesday, where they discussed competing head-to-head for the first time.

“It’s a little nerve-wracking. It’s a totally different pressure. We’re excited to cut loose and have some fun,” Meryl told Billy Bush and Kit Hoover.

“In the end, we might be competing against each other, but we’re still a team and enjoying the experience together,” Charlie, who is paired with pro Sharna Burgess, said.

Do the ice dancers think they have an unfair advantage?

“If a Pussycat Doll can do a dance show, then we can,” Meryl, 27, said referring to Nicole Scherzinger.

Charlie, 26, said the rink is not the ballroom.

“So much of what you do on the ice goes against what you want to do on the dance floor. … We have to unlearn a lot of things, which makes it more difficult in some ways,” he told Billy and Kit.

And the moves they learn on “DWTS” could end up in their future routines.

“What we learn on the show, we’ll be able to take back to the ice with us,” Meryl, who is paired with pro Maksim Chmerkovskiy, said.

Meryl, who acknowledged she “could use a good spray tan,” warned their fans they are both out to clinch the title.

“We both want to win, we’re competitive people by nature,” she added.

The new season of “DWTS” kicks off on March 17 at 8 PM on ABC.
