Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones have decided to give each other some space. A rep for Michael confirmed the couple’s separation to Access Hollywood.
“Michael and Catherine are taking some time apart to evaluate and work on their marriage,” his rep told Access.

In recent months, they have not stepped out publicly together and Michael, 68, was recently seen vacationing on a yacht off the coast of Sardinia, while Catherine, 43, is said to be in New York, according to People, who first reported the news.
The couple has reportedly not filed for divorce or a legal separation.

The acting couple has two children together, Dylan, 13, and Carys, 10.
“They want the best for their kids, no matter what happens,” another source told the mag.
The separation – reportedly a mutual decision – came after Michael returned from the Cannes Film Festival in May.
