Michelle Obama: My New Bangs Add ‘A Little Spice’

First Lady Michelle Obama stepped out in style on Inauguration Day wearing Thom Browne & J.Crew as she stood beside President Barack Obama was he was sworn into office for a second term. Over the weekend, the First Lady and Dr. Jill Biden spoke with Access Hollywood’s Shaun Robinson about another style choice that was making headlines – Michelle’s new bangs.

“This is my muse,” Michelle told Shaun referring to Jill when asked about her new hairstyle at the 2013 Kid’s Inaugural Concert on Saturday.

“Excuse me, but I was actually the first one to have the bangs. She’s just following me,” the wife of the Vice President joked.

The First Lady explained that her headline-making ‘do was meant to add a little flair to her look.

“Just like any woman. It’s like, I’m going be 50 in a little bit. I gotta keep a little spice in it,” she told Shaun.

“I have few options for change. I mean there’s only so much I got,” the First Lady continued. “I can cut the hair, I can make it short, make it long, bangs were new.”

And most importantly, what did the President think of her new look?

“He’s like, ‘Oh, they’re cute,’” Michelle said of his take on her new bangs.
