Michelle Obama Talks Palin’s Daughter & Possibility Of Third Child On ‘Ellen’ Premiere

Ellen DeGeneres will open her sixth season of “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” with Michelle Obama, wife of U.S. Senator and Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama, Access Hollywood has learned.

The possible future First Lady discussed Governor Sarah Palin’s pregnant 17-year-old daughter, the possibility of a third child for the Obama family and why she believes she has better dance moves than her husband.

On the premier episode, airing September 8 from a new studio on the Warner Bros. Studio lot, Ellen praises Barack’s handling of the news that Sarah Palin’s daughter, Bristol, was pregnant.

“I thought it was amazing how your husband handled the situation with Governor Palin’s daughter, the announcement that she’s pregnant, and he handled that and I’ll just paraphrase a little bit but he said basically, “I think people’s families are off limits, and people’s children are especially off limits,” Ellen said to Michelle.

Michelle agreed, putting political parties aside and urging everyone to let the Palin family handle the matter privately.

“And that’s one of the reasons why I’m proud of my husband and I love him. He’s been very protective of our kids through this process, and his view is that, ‘What’s good for my kids is good for everybody’s kids,’ and I completely agree with him,” Michelle said. “I know that they care about their kids, and we should let them deal with this issue.”

As for the Obamas adding another child to their family, Michelle told Ellen she feels like they already have three kids.

“I think I’m done,” she said when Ellen asked if she will have more kids. ” I think our third child is this campaign.”

And it wouldn’t be an episode of “Ellen” if the guests didn’t do some dancing. Besides talk of kids and politics, Ellen stirred up a little competition in the Obama house on the issue of who has the better dance moves after she showed side-by-side clips of herself dancing with Senator Barack Obama and then dancing with Michelle Obama.

“It’s settled,” Ellen said after watching the dancing clips.

“I think it’s over,” Michelle said agreeing with Ellen. “You know, this will get him back on. He’s very competitive.”

“That would be great. I would like him to practice and come back,” Ellen noted. “He’ll start doing some really cool moves.”

“He’s not doing much else,” Michelle laughed.
