Michelle Williams is planning to fly to Perth for Heath Ledger’s funeral next week according to a report in the Sydney Morning Herald.
Williams, Ledger’s ex-fiancee, and the mother of his two-year-old daughter Matilda, will leave New York shortly for the funeral, a friend of the family told the paper.
The paper also reports that Ledger’s father, Kim, has told friends he wants his son’s funeral, expected to be held in Perth, Australia, to be low-key and reserved for family and close friends.
Supermodel Helena Christensen, who said she was on-route to see Ledger when the news of his death broke, is also believed to be attending the ceremony.
Bowra & O’Dea Funeral Directors are reportedly handling the arrangements, the paper reported.
Williams is currently in New York, having flown back from Sweden where she was filming “Shutter Island” when the news broke of Ledger’s death last week.
Williams stars in the film alongside Leonardo DiCaprio and Mark Ruffalo. Martin Scorsese is directing the picture.
