Miley Cyrus Returning For New Season Of ‘Hannah Montana’

Miley Cyrus is coming back for more “Hannah Montana.”

Miley will return for a fourth season of the hit series, the Disney Channel announced on Monday.

The news comes as production on Season 3 is set to wrap this week. Filming on Season 4 is slated to begin in early 2010, with the Stewart family — Miley, dad Robbie (Billy Ray Cyrus) and brother Jackson (Jason Earles) — struggling to say goodbye to their beachfront Malibu home.

“‘Hannah Montana’ has become one of the most iconic series in television history,” Disney Channel president Gary Marsh said on Monday. “That is a direct result of the extraordinary collaboration between the show’s producers, writers and cast – all of whom constantly challenge each other to raise the bar, comedically, musically and from a storytelling perspective. In keeping with that approach, Miley and the producers have proposed a change of setting for Season Four that will provide the catalyst for wonderful new characters and further expand the storytelling opportunities.”

In an earlier interview with Access Hollywood, Miley admitted that although she wouldn’t wear her trademark “Hannah” wig forever, she was enjoying it while it lasts.

“I can’t be ‘Hannah’ forever, but for right now I’m having a good time,” she told Access in March. “I definitely want to continue to do it and I’d love to do another season… But at some point…I will definitely step away from it.”
