Miley Cyrus To Star In Film By ‘Notebook’ Author

Miley Cyrus is hoping to transition from ‘tween star to young adult star — and she’s looking to former-teen star Mandy Moore for a little inspiration.

Miley will headline an as-yet-untitled film which is being written especially for the ‘tween mega-star by “The Notebook” author Nicholas Sparks, Variety reports.

During a meeting with Disney, Miley mentioned 2002’s “A Walk To Remember” with Mandy Moore as the type of film she hoped to do, producer Jennifer Gibgot told the entertainment trade mag,

Sparks, who penned the novel that the Mandy movie is based on, is writing the untitled novel, while simultaneously working on the screenplay for Miley. Sparks also brought “The Notebook” to the big screen in 2003, starring Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling.

The plot of the new novel and movie are being kept under wraps, but Sparks reportedly pitched an idea that Miley and her family are excited about.

Miley will reportedly be leaving the singing behind in her upcoming film and focus on the acting.

A release date for the film has not been determined, but Sparks said the book will be published in fall 2009.
