It appears “The Mindy Project’s” cancellation is news to Mindy Kaling!
Well, not really, as we imagine the series star/creator heard the fan-saddening news that Fox had canceled the sitcom after three seasons, but Mindy – in all her amazing glory – reacted to the news with a smile and a wink.

“Hey guys, I’m in Montana, is anything happening in LA? #themindyproject,” Mindy posted on Instagram with a video of a flowing river, followed by a wink from the actress.
Following news of the series’ cancellation, EW reported the show could find life after TV death on Hulu.
Does the wink mean we haven’t seen the last of Mindy’s TV persona Mindy Lahiri?!?

Leading up to the show’s Season 3 finale — which left fans hanging with a pregnant Mindy back at home while Danny (Chris Messina) arrived in India to surprise her parents and confess his love for their daughter — Mindy was confident there was more to come.
“I just don’t think this is the end,” she said in a SiriusXM interview on March 23. “I feel me and the writers have so many stories to tell, and I just have a good feeling that it’s going to come back.”
