“Modern Family’s” Pritchett clan is growing and the stars are excited that Sofia Vergara’s character, Gloria, has a child on the way.
Access Hollywood caught up with Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Julie Bowen at the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Performers Peer Group Reception in Universal City, Calif., on Monday, where they talked about the upcoming new season of their hit sitcom.
“The family has learned about Gloria’s pregnancy, so there’s that to deal with. We’re actually shooting our fourth episode right now and we’re moving very quickly, so we have some really funny stuff,” Jesse explained.
Sofia’s recent engagement to Nick Loeb has kept the actress extremely occupied, something her co-stars have taken note of.
“She’s very, very busy, both fake Sofia and real Sofia,” Jesse added.
Julie, who was on hand for the couple’s July engagement in Mexico, marveled at how much fun she had celebrating with her co-star and Sofia’s husband-to-be.
“It was crazy! She does nothing small. That woman knows how to go all the way out and it was quite a party,” Julie told Access.
Julie also noted that her character, Claire, is going to enjoy watching Sofia’s Gloria lose a bit of her bombshell status during pregnancy.
“I would say that Claire thinks it’s fun to watch her get fat,” she added, with a laugh.
“Modern Family” returns on September 26 on ABC.
