Morrisey Collapses During UK Concert

Morrissey collapsed on stage during his opening number at a Swindon, England performance and was rushed to the hospital on Saturday, the UK’s Guardian reported.

According to the newspaper, the former Smiths frontman was performing the band’s hit “This Charming Man” when he fell to the stage.

The 50-year-old singer, whose full name is Steven Patrick Morrissey, is in stable condition following the incident, a spokesman for Great Western hospital told the newspaper.

Morrissey reportedly previously canceled several dates earlier this year due to health-related issues, including four dates in Florida and one at Birmingham’s Symphony Hall.

Saturday’s show is one of the first of the singer’s current three-month world tour, which is scheduled to conclude in the U.S. with a West Coast swing in December.
