‘Mr. Robot’ Season 2: What To Expect

“Mr. Robot,” one of the summer’s best TV shows, came to a world-crashing end last night. So what can fans expect in Season 2?

But first, series stars Rami Malek (Elliot) and Christian Slater (Mr. Robot) revealed to Access Hollywood what they thought of the finale, which was pushed back after the shooting tragedy in Virginia last month. We caught up with actors last month to get their thoughts on the stunning finale.

“I couldn’t believe it,” Christian told Access of the episode. “I was really happy, I was very excited.”

Rami was equally excited about the episode that saw fsociety unleash it’s crippling computer hack on the world’s financial institutions.

“When I get excited about something I tend to laugh like a little girl, I found myself just giggling, when I was opening it up,” the actor said of the script.

Entertainment Weekly spoke to series creator Sam Esmail about what fans can expect to in Season 2 of the hit USA series.

Fans might have been puzzled by the abrupt start of the finale. Esmail explained that Elliot’s missing three days when the hack was executed, will be explored next season.

“In those three days, what happened? Where is Tyrell? What was the deal between him and Tyrell that allowed the hack to still continue? All of that sets up really interesting questions for the second season. One of the things that I love about the finale is that it’s essentially queueing up where we’re going to go and on top of that, shifting the direction of our story. Now it’s not about this mystery within himself that Elliot’s trying to resolve. Now it’s grown more external. He’s aware of what’s going on inside of him, and it’s leaking out. How’s he going to deal with that?,” he told EW.

The show creator explained that Season 2 could do deep into fsociety’s history.

“I think everything is going to be looked at over time. The whole backstory of fsociety, as well as those three days, is something that I think we’re going to delve into in the next season. I don’t know exactly when yet, but we’re definitely going to show it,” he continued.

Fans can also expect to see more of BD Wong’s stellar transgender Whiterose character (who was featured in the after-credits scene) ahead.

“BD Wong is one of my favorite actors, and I’ve always dreamed of working with him. I’m so happy that I got a chance to work with him. He loves the show thankfully. I definitely think that we’ll see more of him for sure, if I have anything to say about it,” Esmail revealed.
