MTV Confirms Lauren Conrad Leaving ‘The Hills’

After much debate over whether Lauren Conrad would actually be leaving “The Hills,” MTV has finally announced they are moving forward without their star.

In a statement promoting this fall’s new episodes of the MTV reality show, the network confirmed LC would no longer be a part of the cast.

“Lauren has moved on,” the statement read. “But Heidi, Audrina, Spencer, Brody, Stephanie, Lo and Justin Bobby will be back as the drama continues with fresh faces, new stories and shocking surprises.”

And while it’s many of the same faces, it will be new titles for at least two of the characters, as Spencer and Heidi will now try their hand as reality TV husband and wife.

“Spencer and Heidi will be newlyweds, so the stakes are higher than ever before for the two to make things work,” MTV added.

But as far as Heidi is concerned, the show won’t miss a beat without her famed frenemy.

“We don’t need her,” Heidi previously told MTV News of Lauren’s departure. “We’ll miss her. I just don’t know if we need her.”

In fact, the new Mrs. Spencer Pratt thinks things will only get better from here on out.

“’The Hills’ hasn’t even really begun yet. I think this is just the beginning,” she continued. “I think it’s a closing chapter for her. I’m sure she’ll have fun and success.

“She’s gotta leave the drama to the pros!” Heidi said.
