Munsters Reboot Coming To NBC This Halloween; Future Of Show Unclear

“Mockingbird Lane,” NBC’s reboot of classic television show “The Munsters,” is gearing up to hit the air this Halloween season – but it may just be a one-time thing.

The pilot episode, directed by executive producer Bryan Singer, will air on October 26, at 8/7c, paired with “Grimm” at 9/8c. However, the show’s future after that remains unclear.

Starring Jerry O’Connell as Herman Munster, Portia de Rossi as Lily Munster and British comedian and actor Eddie Izzard as Grandpa, the show is being billed in a release from NBC as a “special program,” which “leads into a haunting ‘La Llorona’ Halloween episode of ‘Grimm.’”

“This exciting new take on a memorable series will definitely blow out conventional wisdom and create its own legacy,” Jennifer Salke, President of NBC Entertainment, said in a statement on Thursday. “Teaming this new show with a terrifying episode of ‘Grimm’ makes the perfect pre-Halloween fright-fest.”

While some reports suggested the special will be it for the show, a rep for NBC told on Friday that no decisions had been made on the future of “Mockingbird Lane.”
