‘Nashville’ Renewed For Season 3; Show’s Stars React

Don’t put dirt on “Nashville’s” grave just yet!

After weeks of waiting, the ABC country music-themed drama has been renewed for a third season, network co-President Ben Sherman announced on Twitter on Friday night.

“Congratz and welcome back for Season 3 to @Nashville_ABC @conniebritton @CharlesEsten @CallieKhouri, the whole Nashville team and loyal fans,” he wrote.

Connie Britton, who plays reigning country music queen Rayna Jaymes on the show expressed her happiness over the news, Tweeting, “Y’all did it…@Nashville_ABC season 3! Thanks for your amazing support. @BenSherwoodABC thanks from cast and crew. #Nashville we love u!”

Charles Esten (who plays Deacon Claybourne) also Tweeted his joy over the news, as did Will Chase (Luke Wheeler), Sam Palladio (Gunnar Scott), Aubrey Peeples (Layla Grant) and Lennon and Maisy Stella (Maddie and Daphne Conrad). Here’s what they had to say:
