Natalie Portman On Her ‘Black Swan’ Lesbian Sex Scene: ‘Everyone Wants To See That’

Natalie Portman credits her on-screen bedroom romp with Mila Kunis in “Black Swan” for drawing more people out to catch the Oscar-buzzed about film.

“Everyone was so worried about who was going to want to see this movie,” Natalie told Entertainment Weekly, which features the actress on one of its two Oscar themed covers this week. “I remember them being like, ‘How do you get guys to a ballet movie? How do you get girls to a thriller?’ And the answer is a lesbian scene. Everyone wants to see that.”

The actress, who is expected to get a Best Actress Oscar nomination for her role as Nina, a troubled star ballerina in the Darren Aronofsky directed film, said that playing the dark role took a toll.

“There were some nights that I thought I literally was going to die,” she told the mag. “It was the first time I understood how you could get so wrapped up in a role that it could sort of take you down.”

While the role took its toll on Natalie, it also took the actress down a new path – to engagement and pregnancy.

As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, the beauty is now is engaged to Benjamin Millepied, a choreographer whom Natalie met while shooting the dance thriller, and the couple are expecting their first child.

Natalie is currently up for a Golden Globe and a Screen Actors Guild Award for her role as Nina.
