Neil Patrick Harris Kills At ‘2010 Video Game Awards’; ‘Red Dead Redemption’ Takes Top Honors

Spike TV honored the best in gaming on Saturday night at the “2010 Video Game Awards”, and host Neil Patrick Harris got into the action with a bloody Broadway-inspired opening number that left a slew of dancers gunned down… virtually of course!

The actor presided over the festivities that crowned Rockstar Games’ “Red Dead Redemption” the night’s big winner with four awards including, “Game of the Year,” “Best Song,” “Best Original Score,” and “Best DLC.”

“Backstage at the VGAs. Show is going well, live is nerve-wracking. But these premieres are unreal. Technology rules!,” Neil Tweeted on Saturday. “The hot VGA trophy girl is wearing a metal dress, so she can’t sit down. All night.”

Neil also apparently got the scoop on one of TV’s hottest new shows from fellow attendee Nathan Fillion.

”@NathanFillion And to you, sir. As delightful and debonaire as e’er. Thanks for telling me the secrets to The Walking Dead,” the ” How I Met Your Mother” star Tweeted.

Access Hollywood’s Maria Menounos was also on hand on Saturday.

She Tweeted, “had so much fun” after hanging out with the cast of “Its Always Sunny In Philadelphia,” as well as Denise Richards and Danny Devito.

Other stars in attendance included, “Thor’s” Chris Hemsworth, Olivia Munn, Eliza Dushku, Anna Lynne McCord, Rachel Bilson, Dane Cook and “True Blood” stars Sam Trammell and Rutina Wesley.
