Neil Patrick Harris & Kristin Chenoweth To Announce Emmy Nominations

Television veteran Neil Patrick Harris of CBS’ “How I Met Your Mother” will join “Pushing Daisies” star Kristin Chenoweth in announcing the nominees for the 60th Primetime Emmy Awards next month.

Harris and Chenoweth will make the announcement on July 17 at 5:40 AM PST at the Television Academy in Los Angeles.

The actual awards ceremony will take place on September 21. They will be broadcast on ABC.

Though there are still weeks before the nominees are announced, the Emmys have already been creating a stir thanks to two stars who withdrew their names from contention.

Last week it was revealed that “Grey’s Anatomy” star and former Best Actress Emmy winner Katherine Heigl had removed her name from Emmy consideration, blaming the scripts from her hit ABC show.

“I did not feel that I was given the material this season to warrant an Emmy nomination and in an effort to maintain the integrity of the academy organization, I withdrew my name from contention,” she told the Los Angeles Times’ Gold Derby.

Earlier this week, it was revealed that Lindsay Lohan had also opted not to submit her name for consideration, after appearing on the season finale of “Ugly Betty” last month.

“The appearance was brief,” a rep for the actress told the LA Times. “We made a decision to wait.”
