Neil Patrick Harris To Host Oscars

Neil Patrick Harris will host the Oscars!

Access Hollywood has confirmed that the actor, who is no stranger to hosting award shows, will preside over the 87th Academy Awards.

The 41-year-old has previously hosted The Tonys four times and The Emmys twice and even performed at the Oscars in 2010.

“It is truly an honor and a thrill to be asked to host this year’s Academy Awards. I grew up watching the Oscars and was always in such awe of some of the greats who hosted the show,” Neil said in a statement on Wednesday. “To be asked to follow in the footsteps of Johnny Carson, Billy Crystal, Ellen DeGeneres, and everyone else who had the great fortune of hosting is a bucket list dream come true.” 

The star also confirmed the news on Twitter posting a video.

“I’m in,” he says before scrolling down a bucket list with “Host the Oscars” last on his list, which he circles.

The 87th Academy Awards will air on February 22 on ABC.
