Bravo star NeNe Leakes said “I do” to Gregg Leakes for a second time, but this time around the reality star/actress had some marriage rules – plus a prenup!
The couple’s second trip down the aisle is captured on “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” spin-off, “I Dream of NeNe: The Wedding,” and the always outspoken star stopped by Access Hollywood Live, where dished on why her first marriage went south.
“I felt like Gregg was not receiving things that I was saying to him. He was not being the husband that I desired, so I divorced him,” she told Billy Bush and Kit Hoover. “A lot of women stay in relationships… their husband [is] doing one thing, they’re doing something else. I don’t want that. I want to be in love, I want to communicate, I want to make love, I want to hold hands, I want to do all the things that a couple should do. Even though you’re together 20 years, you shouldn’t lose that kind of stuff.”

This time around NeNe built in a little insurance into her nuptials.
“A lot of African American men don’t, or African American families don’t really necessarily believe in the whole prenup thing. A lot of them don’t have them. But I felt like I had already been down this road with Gregg before, I know how he fights in court. I’ve already been there with him before,” she explained. “I feel like people think that prenups are a bad thing, they really aren’t… It’s like I would rather for us to agree on everything now before we get mad. I just felt like it was a contract, [an] agreement. It’s not romantic, it’s not sexy, but we need it.”
According to NeNe, the terms of their agreement are good for both of them.
“I can’t say what’s in my prenup, but I can tell you this, even if Gregg did something bad I would never want to see him down, even if we weren’t together,” she said. “I don’t want to see him down or do bad. So, I think our prenup is pretty fair.”
The 45-year-old explained that her husband was reluctant to get onboard.
“He didn’t want to sign… he didn’t ask me to sign a prenup years ago probably because he liked my Hello Kitty,” NeNe said with a laugh. “So you know, I didn’t need to sign a prenup.”

NeNe and Gregg split in 2011 after 13 years together. They met in 1996 and have a son, Brentt, 13, together. They wed again on June 22 of this year.
The series premiere of “I Dream of NeNe: The Wedding” debuts tonight at 9/8c on Bravo.
