New Best Friend Alert: Britney Spears & Mars Rover Curiosity

Britney Spears has a new Twitter pal that would make even a rocket scientist jealous.

The singer, 30, whose 2000 music video for “Oops!… I Did It Again” was set on Mars (who could forget that red latex catsuit?!), Tweeted NASA’s Mars rover Curiosity to get the deets on the fiery planet.

“So @MarsCuriosity… does Mars look the same as it did in 2000?” Britney Tweeted this week, along with a link to her “Oops!” music video.

The $2.5 billion robotic explorer — which is currently roaming Mars – replied to Brit, sense of humor sharply intact.

“Hey Brit Brit. Mars is still looking good,” NASA’s official Curiosity Twitter account (which boasts over 1 million followers) Tweeted in reply. “Maybe someday an astronaut will bring me a gift, too. Drill bits crossed ;)”

Curiosity landed on Mars on August 5, following a treacherous landing dubbed the “seven minutes of terror.”
