New York Fashion Week’s Most Fab

It’s go, go, go at New York Fashion Week.

The streets around Bryant Park are packed with the beautiful people — the hottest models, the sharpest fashion critics, the biggest designers, the sassiest publicists, the widest-eyed starlets, the meanest bouncers and every lookie-loo who lives for fashion.

But while checking out which way hemlines are going (back down, it seems), and whether collars are going to be sharp and up or down and loose (down, again), it’s more fun to keep track of the “Fashion Fabs,” the movers, shakers, notables and rising stars who make Fashion Week a truly star-studded affair.

The Model Turned Mogul: Heidi Klum
She may be one of the hottest models to ever walk a runway, but at Fashion Week, Heidi Klum, now mother of four, is all about “Project Runway.” On Friday, Klum was front row center, alongside Nina Garcia, Michael Kors and special guest judge Faith Hill, as her Lifetime reality competition filmed its newest designers competing for the show’s crown.

The Editress: Anna Wintour
Forget Meryl Streep, fashion icon Anna Wintour is the real “Devil Wears Prada.” As editor-in-chief of the American edition of Vogue since 1988, this fashionista never has a hair out of place. The always-impeccable Wintour is famous for her flawless bob haircut and expressionless poker face. This legendary icon has become an institution in the fashion world and respected amongst the elite. Be sure to look for Wintour sitting front row in her famously chic sunglasses.

The Rocker-Turned-Design Queen: Gwen Stefani
The Orange County bleach blonde beauty, rocker Gwen Stefani, has become a fashion icon in the industry. Stefani’s booming line, L.A.M.B., was shown off on the runway at New York Fashion Week on Thursday to drooling celebs like a glam Kelly Osbourne, who Tweeted her amazement following the show. From being the singer of ska-punk icons No Doubt, to solo artist, to designer, to wife (of fellow rocker Gavin Rossdale) and mother of two, this platinum blonde definitely knows how to have fun and keep us wanting more while doing it.

The Fashionista Sidekick: Andre Leon Talley
Clad in either a myriad of colorful scale prints or enough fur to send PETA into cardiac arrest, there is no doubt that Talley will be front row at Fashion Week. Known for never leaving Anna Wintour’s side, fashion’s Andre the Giant has taken his sidekick adventures to new heights. This spring, he will be the fourth fashion guru (following Paulina Porizkova, Twiggy, and Janice Dickinson) to join the ever-rotating judges’ spot on Tyra Banks’ hit series, “America’s Next Top Model.” Talley plans on sporting a signature line of capes (one for each week) for the season – look out, Miss Jay.

The Muse: Chloe Sevigny
Actress, fashion designer and former model, Chloe Sevigny is fashion’s triple threat. Her fashion-forward style is so far beyond the horizon that she could take a robe, belt yarn around her waist, top it off with a pair of slippers and make it look chic. As the rest of the world tries to catch up during Fashion Week, Sevigny will probably be considering her newest trend-starting garment (towel, perhaps?). As the muse to fashionistas around the world, we wonder, do they go to Fashion Week to see what the models are wearing or what Sevigny is?

The Idol: Lady Gaga
And then there was Lady Gaga. Her eccentric – to say the least – fashion style has left millions in awe of how she does it. Whether it’s walking the red carpet of the Grammys with a solar system-inspired gown, or gluing pearls to her face at Fashion Week’s amfAR benefit, this fashion icon has mesmerized even the most famous designers. She’ll be in demand at Fashion Week and any show that manages to get her in their front row will be the talk of the industry. But condolences to the guy sitting behind her.

The Backstage Driver: Kelly Cutrone
Behind every must-see Fashion Week fashion show is a powerful PR maven, and People’s Revolution boss Kelly Cutrone is the backstage woman to watch. Don’t let the New Yorker’s sweetheart-shaped face fool you. The raven-haired gal has a reputation for being tough-talking, blunt and even hard-nosed, having once flustered easygoing SoCal gal Lauren Conrad with an order to fire Stephanie Pratt during an episode of “The Hills.” Learn all you need to know about Cutrone on her new Bravo docu-soap, “Kell On Earth.”

The Sexy Surprise: Reggie Bush
He may have been a standout at USC and a first round draft choice, but to the fashion world, Reggie Bush is a newbie, but a welcome one at that. The sexy No. 25, a running back for Super Bowl champs the New Orleans Saints, turned heads when he sat front row to support girlfriend Kim Kardashian at the Heart Truth Fall 2010 Fashion Show on Thursday in a sharp-looking grey coat and matching sweater, sending tongues a-wagging.

The Reality Star: Kim Kardashian
Kim Kardashian is everywhere — and Fashion Week is no exception. She walked the runway, showing off her voluptuous shape in a one-shouldered Greek-style red dress, at the Heart Truth Fall 2010 Fashion Show. Look out for Kim to be taking notes as she sits front row at other shows in the coming days.

The Outsiders: The Cast Of “Jersey Shore”
While there are reports they are totally unwelcome, Simon Doonan, famed creative director for Barneys, has said he’d love to see Pauly D, Snooki, The Situation, JWOWW and the rest of MTV’s rambunctious 20-something gang at Fashion Week. “The thing that’s so fabulous about them is their complete and utter lack of pretension. That is a much needed ingredient of Fashion Week,” he told Page Six earlier this week.
