Nick Jonas: ‘Modeling’ New Band After ‘Springsteen’

Think you know the Jonas Brothers? Then it’s time to meet Nick Jonas’ new band – Nick Jonas & the Administration.

The youngest JoBro’s solo project will be presented with guest hosts Kevin and Joe Jonas on Radio Disney’s “Nick Jonas & The Administration: Total Access Weekend” on Saturday and Sunday at 5 PM ET.

In the interview, Nick told his brothers on Radio Disney that he’s looking to imitate the greats with his new gig.

“I’m kind of modeling it after Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band,” he said. “It’s kind of the look we were going for stylistically on the album cover and just the project in general… [Springsteen] pours so much passion and emotion into all of his songs every night and I hope I can capture that too.”

Nick will also be playing some shows with the Adminstration in support of his new album, “Who I Am,” kicking off on January 2 in Dallas, Texas.

“This show will definitely be more about the music…I have three buses and one truck, instead of 17,” he told Radio Disney.

While he’s going solo, with “Who I Am,” due on February 2 on Hollywood Records, Nick said JoBros fans shouldn’t be worried.

“We’ve [Kevin, Joe and Nick] had long, honest conversations about it and the truth is that this project and the Jonas Brothers can co-exist,” he said. “Come mid-February we’re going to be back in production with the TV show and we’ll be working on plans for another [Jonas Brothers] world tour next summer.”

The brothers are prepping a second season of Disney’s “JONAS,” with production beginning in February for a mid-2010 return to the Disney Channel.
