Nicki Minaj Dishes On Idol Feud With Mariah: Definitely Isn’t Fake!

The barbs, name-calling, animosity and claws on the upcoming season of “American Idol” between new judges Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey are real!

Nicki appeared on Monday’s “The Tonight Show,” where she told Jay Leno the feud is far from fabricated.

“It definitely isn’t a fake feud,” Nicki said.

The rapper/singer said some playful joking led to a blowup.

“We’re both passionate, and both crazy, and we’re both, you know,” she continued, “And then sometimes it just goes ‘rawrr!’”

Last week at the FOX portion of the Television Critics Association Winter Session 2013, the pair spoke about the spat – which might not be resolved entirely.

“I think time sorts everything. Time heals all wounds,” Mariah said at the time, responding to a question from a reporter, adding, “I did nothing and here we are.”

“We’re professionals… Haven’t you ever had an argument with someone you worked with?” Nicki said to the reporter. “I feel like people…”

“It was sort of a one-sided thing,” Mariah said quickly.

“No, it wasn’t,” Nicki quickly stated.

“American Idol” returns on Wednesday, January 16 and Thursday, January 17 at 8 PM on FOX.
