Nicole Kidman & Keith Urban Welcome New Daughter Via Surrogate; Both Stars Are Baby’s Biological Parents

Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban were beaming on the red carpet at the Golden Globes on Sunday night and it’s just been revealed why – they welcomed a new addition to their family over the holidays.

Nicole and Keith welcomed a second daughter to their brood in late December, via a surrogate, in their home base of Nashville, Tenn., Access Hollywood has confirmed.

“Keith Urban, Nicole Kidman and their two-year old daughter Sunday Rose, today announced a new addition to their family, Faith Margaret Kidman Urban,” a rep for Nicole told Access on Monday. “Born through a gestational carrier at Nashville’s Centennial Womens Hospital on December 28, 2010, Faith Margaret is Urban and Kidman’s biological daughter.”

Nicole and Keith also issued their own joint statement, calling the baby news a true blessing.

“Our family is truly blessed, and just so thankful, to have been given the gift of baby Faith Margaret,” the couple said in their statement to Access. “No words can adequately convey the incredible gratitude that we feel for everyone who was so supportive throughout this process, in particular our gestational carrier.”

Nicole’s first daughter with Keith, Sunday Rose, was born in 2008. She also has two adopted children with ex-husband Tom Cruise, Isabella and Conor.

The couple’s baby news may have come as a shock to many, but choosing to keep it a secret certainly isn’t a surprise for the couple who has long valued their privacy.

After Nicole gave birth to Sunday, the couple begged the paparazzi for some “space,” when they took their newborn daughter to Australia for the first time back in August 2008.

“I suppose Keith and I are both appealing to the press and stuff just to give us a little space so we can walk around Sydney and show the baby our town,” Nicole told morning show hosts Kyle and Jackie O on Sydney’s 2Day FM in 2008.

Keith said he understood why the paparazzi come out in force, but noted that they should recognize when he is out with his child.

“I get it, I get whatever sort of interest there is in it… But at the same time it’s our little girl,” Keith said. “I think sometimes when people come right up in your face, you’re just going, ‘Good god.’ I mean, would you do that to anyone else’s child?”
