Nicole Kidman Ready For Life On The Road With Keith Urban

She may be an Oscar-winning actress, but Nicole Kidman is about to play the part of a doting wife and mega-pop country fan, as she is ready to hit the road with husband Keith Urban.

In an interview with USA Today to promote her upcoming film “The Golden Compass,” Nicole told the paper she plans to join her Grammy winning spouse on the road when she finishes shooting the Baz Lurhman epic, “Australia.”

“Because I’ve been doing this film, he has been coming to Australia regularly. When I finish it, that’s when we come back and I go out [on the road],” she told the paper. “It’s a great way to see America. It’s a whole different way of life for me. I also like seeing him do what he does. He’s so good at it. He can really play, and he can really sing. I’ll vouch for it.”

After years and years of working on project after project, Nicole said she is committed to staying home and spending most of her time with her husband.

“I have a new niece, I have a new marriage, we just bought an acreage in Tennessee, which we’re really happy to build a house on and spend some time doing that,” she said. “I’m just not willing to give up my life with my man anymore.

“So that’s it,” she added. “He goes on tour and stuff, but otherwise we’re basically inseparable.”

One reason Kidman likes to stay put seems to stem from her marriage to “Lions for Lambs” star Tom Cruise. She told USA Today, they were constantly on the going during their near ten-year marriage, causing her to lose her hometown bearings.

“Tom and I, we moved and moved and moved. Your sense of where do I come from becomes less and less relevant,” she said. “A lot of my life, particularly when I was working so much, it was about trying to fill in the gaps. Now there’s much more reason to exist in the world without my identity needing to be through work.”
