Proud new parents Nicole Richie and Joel Madden are sharing the joy of their newborn son with their fans.
“What a great day to come back on Twitter,” Nicole Tweeted late Wednesday night. “Thank you everyone for your well wishes. I love my family!!”
The reality starlet gave birth to new son, Sparrow James Midnight Madden, early Wednesday morning, which became big news on the micro-blogging Web site.
“1st day of his life & my son is already a trending topic on twitter. That’s right son, ur just like your old man,” Joel wrote on his account.
As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, their new little bundle of joy weighed in at 7lbs. 14oz.
The couple’s first child, Harlow Winter Kate Madden, was born in January 2008.
Nicole and Joel also received well wishes from their celebrity friends via Twitter after the big news.
“congrats!!” Pete Wentz Tweeted to Nicole, following it with a “congrats buddy!” to Joel.
