Nicollette Sheridan Responds To ‘Desperate Housewives’ Return Rumors

Marc Cherry might have said he has a plan to pay homage to all of the characters from Wisteria Lane during the final season of “Desperate Housewives,” but former series star Nicollette Sheridan isn’t sure how her Edie Britt would fit into his plan.

“Well, that’s news to me,” Nicollette told Kathie Lee Gifford and Access Hollywood’s Billy Bush (filing in for Hoda Kotb) on the “Today” show on Monday when asked about Marc’s comment at the TCAs over the weekend.

“If asked, would you come back?” Billy asked.

“I had an amazing time playing that character. I loved her dearly, but they killed her! She’s dead,” Nicollette continued.

When the idea of a flashback was proposed by Billy as way for Edie to return, the actress did not appear to be onboard.

“What, is this turning into a daytime soap opera?” she asked Kathie Lee and Billy.

“In other words, she’s saying no! I think she said no,” Kathie Lee added.

As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, Marc shared his final season plan with reporters at the ABC portion of the Television Critics Association Summer Session on Sunday.

“I don’t know how I would do that,” Marc said in response to a question from a reporter about Nicollette’s character coming back or paying tribute to her. “But I have an idea for the last episode, in which I want to pay homage to everyone who’s been there.”
