Nikita: Maggie Q, Devon Sawa & More On How They Felt Before Shooting The Final 2 Episodes

There are just two episodes left of The CW’s “Nikita,” and it was precisely at this point in the filming process when AccessHollywood.com visited the Toronto set of the show, courtesy of Warner Bros., where the cast was getting used to the idea of saying goodbye.

It was a warm September day in Toronto as the cast began preparations for filming Season 4’s penultimate episode. Emotions were starting to set in for the cast, but everyone was determined to make those last two episodes powerful.

Maggie Q was in high demand on the day, her interview with Access and other reporters delayed as she filmed a newly-inserted scene for the show. Sitting on the team’s plane set during a break, she reflected on how she was feeling about being so close to wrapping things up.

“I’m super sad. There’s like no question [of that],” Maggie said, when Access asked about her emotions. “I’m really fulfilled in terms of where the character’s going, but these people, I mean, this is my family… and it’s just a weird feeling to not have them in my life all of a sudden, just like that. That’s the weird thing and the beautiful thing about this industry is that you make this family in this intense amount of time and you get really close because that amount of time is so intense and then it goes away. We’re having a hard time, me and sort of my core team of people that I’m with all the time — my makeup and my hair and some of the PAs — we’re very sort of like, they keep talking about it. I’m like, ‘Ahhhh!’ … I’m having a tattoo artist come tomorrow to my trailer and there’s a bunch of us who’ve been here for the four years, from the beginning, and we’re just getting a tiny little something that I designed.

“It’s just like in the shape of pyramid,” Maggie added, when asked about the design. “But it’s just a symbol of the years we’ve been together and stuff.”

Devon Sawa, who plays Sam (formerly Owen), explained his reaction to knowing the end was so near.

“It’s sad. I love all these people here. I love Toronto, but I know I’m gonna be back to Toronto,” Devon said. “We’re all gonna go off and do something else and we’ll keep in touch. We’re just glad we got six [episodes] ‘cause there was a lot of talk about not getting anything at all because of [The] CW doing this whole big push of new stuff this year, so they were really cool giving us six to kind of wrap it up and we’ve wrapped everything up and we’ve also created this six part like miniseries that’s kind of cool.”

Noah Bean, who plays Ryan Fletcher, told reporters he had a little moment of reflection while on a routine journey with his castmates.

“I was riding in the van with Aaron [Stanford] and Shane [West] yesterday. We were shooting up in Hamilton which is about an hour outside of the city where we shoot a lot of stuff and it was the first time where I started to get a little like, ‘Oh man!’ … I was getting a little sentimental,” he said, while speaking with reporters inside The Shop’s lair.

“It’s been great,” he added. “It’s a good group and everybody’s been having a blast.

Lyndsy Fonseca, who plays Alex, said she was ready for the tears to flow when they began shooting her final scenes.

“I think on my last day, I’m gonna cry for sure, but I’m also really excited for everyone and myself to really just go on and do something different,” she said.

For Melinda Clarke, who plays Amanda, she was already reflecting on how much she learned from being part of such an action-packed show.

“It really was a challenging character and a challenging show and it taught me a hell of a lot, because compared to ‘The O.C.,’ which was just so much fun all the time, this one… it’s like you understand… ‘Oh, this is why people run marathons,’ because at the end of it it’s a sense of like accomplishment. Doing this show, to me, is like really challenging yourself to push yourself,” she said.

“Nikita” continues tonight at 9/8c on The CW and concludes next week, on December 27.
