No Acting Classes For Bristol Palin: I ‘Just Went For It’ With ‘Secret Life Of The American Teenager’ Role

Bristol Palin might be stepping into the spotlight on the small screen with an appearance on ABC Family’s “The Secret Life of the American Teenager,” but the headline-making daughter of Sarah Palin didn’t prepare with any acting classes.

AccessHollywood.com’s Laura Saltman caught up with Bristol – who made headlines when it was announced that she pregnant at age 17 during her mom’s 2008 Vice Presidential campaign – on Monday where she talked about her first acting experience on the series, which focuses on teen pregnancy.

”[I] just went for it,” she said of playing herself on the teen drama.

“I had an awesome time. Being on the set was fun,” she continued. “I just had a great time.”

Bristol also spoke about her reconciliation with the father of her baby Tripp, Levi Johnston.

“We were just kids when this happened. And we’re putting it in Tripp’s best interests to co-parent and not to fight,” she explained. “It’s just whatever is best for Tripp.”

Bristol also said she wouldn’t mind if son Tripp caught the acting bug later in life.

“If Tripp [wants to be an actor,] I’ll tell him go for it.”

Bristol’s “The Secret Life of the American Teenager” episode will air on July 5 on ABC Family at 8 PM.
