Noth On ‘SATC’ Spoilers: ‘Go The Opposite Direction’

Thousands of fans of “Sex And The City” were thrilled when news broke that the HBO series was finally going to make it to the big screen. In the weeks since shooting began however, plenty of show’s converts have been posting, blogging, E-mailing and letter writing, begging the media to keep the plot a secret.

Good news for spoiler-haters — Chris Noth, who stars as Sarah Jessica Parker’s longtime, on-screen love interest Mr. Big, told Access Hollywood, everything is not as it seems. A picture may be worth a thousand words, but some of the words being written are not correct.

“They’re already making wrong observations based on a piece that actually isn’t what they think it is,” Noth told Access. “As soon as you start thinking what Page Six says is true, you should go the opposite direction.”

In particular, paparazzi pictures of Parker as Carrie Bradshaw, clothed in a wedding dress don’t necessarily mean she’s walking down the aisle.

“It’s safe to say anything is possible and anything you read in the papers, take with a healthy, healthy dose of skepticism,” Noth said.

Noth refrained from revealing any script details, but he did note the set is buzzing.

“Everyone’s great. It’s a lot of work. It’s a big, robust script. I said that word ‘big,’” he laughed. “Big! Robust! Script! Sort of like a wine — a good, healthy wine.”

Spirits on the set are further enhanced by the dozens of fans that have turned out during filming to catch a glimpse of the ladies and gentlemen in action.

“It is, to say the least, [crazy],” Noth said of the attention. “They are coming out in droves, which could be good or bad. I don’t know … when I’m on [‘Law & Order’], it’s like a couple of winos maybe – ‘what are you shooting? Oh, ‘Law & Order?’ Yeah, we know.’”

Noth told Access he and his “SATC” co-stars recently made an effort to greet a group of onlookers who watched filming all day through a window.

“Those fans were actually really lovely and we went up and talked to them and shook hands and signed autographs,” he said. “They’re so enthusiastic. . . you… want people to care about what you do and want to tune in. It’s better than apathy.”
