‘Ocean’s Thirteen’ Storms Hollywood With Premiere Event

“Ocean’s Thirteen” took Hollywood by storm with its U.S. premiere yesterday, as the famed Grauman’s Chinese Theatre became the epicenter of a star-studded spectacle that drew thousands of screaming fans.

Earlier in the day, the fun began when the “Ocean’s” stars immortalized their handprints in the cement outside the theatre, and the evening’s premiere continued the festivities.

Hollywood Boulevard was shut down for the huge event, and with all of the “Ocean’s” boys present, the street never looked more handsome.

George Clooney, Brad Pitt, and Matt Damon made the ladies swoon as they walked the red carpet, with helicopters circling overhead. And for the male fans? Well, they had the stunning Ellen Barkin and Angelina Jolie to work them into a frenzy.

Clooney was the first to make his way down the red carpet, and Access Hollywood‘s Billy Bush and Shaun Robinson were there to greet him when he finished signing autographs.

When asked why he was the first one to walk the carpet, the always-funny George replied, “I figured I’d knock this off quickly. Get it done, because…have you ever followed Brad Pitt down a red carpet? It’s not fun. You walk behind him, they’re like, ‘hey Geo– oh. Brad Pitt!’”

Another drawback to walking behind Brad, it turns out, is that he has a “thing” when it comes to signing autographs. As “Ocean’s” co-star Don Cheadle pointed out, “Brad’s really got a compulsion about [autographs]. He’ll sign every piece of paper.”

And, obviously, there’s never a shortage of fans seeking Brad’s signature. Matt Damon told Billy a little story: “Yeah, we were in Germany a few years ago. We sat there for 45 minutes. Brad signed absolutely everything.”

Speaking of Brad’s outgoing demeanor, Billy noted a recent interview with Angelina Jolie in which she revealed that Brad is a great listener and talker — especially when she’s in the tub taking a bath. Matt and Don were able to relate to that.

Matt: I notice that with Brad also.
Don: You too?
Matt: When we get in the tub…
Don: When we get in the tub he wants to talk all the time.
Matt: It’s like, I just want to soak.

As for the power couple themselves, Brad and Angelina showed up to a cacophony of cheering people — with hundreds of them trying to score an autograph. When Brad finally reached Billy and Shaun, they marveled over his and Angelina’s attention to the fans.

Shaun: You guys, you and Angelina did this whole line!
Brad: Not quite, we didn’t make it to the end there.
Shaun: Because the movie was about to start.
Brad: Yeah, apparently it started 15 minutes ago.
Billy: How great is this, though? The helicopters are in the air, it’s a big movie production.
Brad: I didn’t even notice helicopters, I’m used to them. They’re usually outside the house every day.

While helicopter surveillance may be a common occurrence at the Jolie-Pitt household, there are other more mundane things that do startle Brad a bit.

“I got barfed on right before we left,” Brad confessed. “The jacket wasn’t on yet, so it was all right.”

And while he wouldn’t say which of their four children threw up on him, Brad recognized that things like that was all a part of fatherhood.

“If someone had told me that I would be getting barfed on and crapped on,” he said, “and [that] I wouldn’t mind, I wouldn’t have believed it.”

Brad is sure to have a happy father’s day, as long as his four kids give him something besides bodily fluids.

As for George, he has some father’s day plans of his own. When Shaun asked him what he was going to be doing that day, he replied with a laugh, “Avoiding all of my ex-girlfriends.”

“Ocean’s Thirteen” opens in theaters nationwide this Friday.
