Olivia Munn Talks The Newsroom Season 2: ‘I’m Studying Sorkin Lines Non-Stop!’

Olivia Munn admits gearing up for Season 2 of HBO’s critically acclaimed drama “The Newsroom” has had affected her sleeping patterns.

“I’ve been having a hard time sleeping lately,” she told Access Hollywood’s Billy Bush and Kit Hoover at the Microsoft All Access Holiday Party last week.

“I think my mind’s in overdrive,” she added. “I’m studying [Aaron] Sorkin lines non-stop, so I just can’t shut it off.”

The actress, who plays TV journalist Sloan Sabbith on the drama, said studying the scripts from the show’s creator have made her resort to some child-like patterns.

“At night, when I want to go to sleep, I’m like a toddler who just won’t go to sleep no matter what,” she said.

She may not be sleeping much, but her boss’ lines are music to Olivia’s ears.

“I can’t sing, but reading Sorkin dialogue is like singing. So if you get that melody and you learn it, it’s like singing your favorite song over and over,” she added.

“The Newsroom” returns next summer on HBO.
