On The Download: Jennifer Lopez: ‘Love?’

Can it get any better for Jennifer Lopez? The actress, singer and media mogul began 2011 by taking a judge’s seat on “American Idol,” which revealed a different side of the performer. Then, People magazine crowned her “the most beautiful woman in the world! The year of J.Lo carries on with the release of “Love?” the music diva’s highly anticipated seventh album and first since 2008.

Lopez enlisted a wide array of hit-making collaborators on this project, including Tricky Stewart, The Dream and RedOne, who produced the album’s global smash lead single, “On the Floor” featuring Pitbull. While this one is still burning up dance floors all over the world (and likely the most played song on my iPod) it’s only one of many gems on the 12-track release.

After the success of “On the Floor,” audiences were eager for more of Lopez’s “Love?” and “I’m Into You” featuring one of her favorite rappers, Lil’ Wayne, was unlocked and released through a campaign on Facebook. This second single has a chill, island vibe to it and J.Lo’s sultry vocals instantly have you mesmerized with lines like “…when I look into your eyes it’s over, you got me hooked with your love controller.“

Just when I thought J.Lo’s body-shaking beats couldn’t possibly get any more addictive, along came “Papi.” Lopez is right in her groove on this ultra calliente dance-jam that is sure to have her large Latin-American following feeling the heat with the words, “Move your body, move your body. Dance for your Papi. Rock your body, rock your body. Dance for your Papi.”

Lopez takes off her dance stilettos a couple times on “Love?” and gets super sentimental on “Until it Beats No More,” where the mother of twins and wife of Marc Anthony thankfully sings, “but then you crashed through the door to my soul and put back all of the pieces and you made me whole.”

On “Hypnotico,” the much buzzed about Lady Gaga-written dance anthem, J.Lo calls on her ladies to cast a love spell chanting, “all the boys are lovin’ when we do our thing, we just some silly heartbreakers tonight…”

Now, more than ever, it seems like there is nothing that Jennifer Lopez can’t do. The release of “Love?” proves that making modern pop music is still one of her most impressive talents.

“Love?” is in stores and on iTunes now. A special “Glitterati” version of the album including an autographed lithograph and bonus tracks is available for preorder on JenniferLopezOnline.com now.
