On The Record With Hayley & David Hasselhoff

LOS ANGELES, Calif. (November 19, 2007) – Hayley Hasselhoff is an upbeat 15-year-old despite going through the public humiliation of her parents’ actions. Now, for the first time, father and daughter sit down for an exclusive interview.

“What is it like to be the Hoff’s daughter?” Access Hollywood’s Nancy O’Dell asked Hayley.

“What is it like? That is crazy,” Haley replied. “It is great! I love my dad. He is a little kid.”

Even daddy David got in on the interview questions.

“How is it at school with you?” the Hoff asked his daughter.

“It is hard. I am not going to lie, it is hard,” she said.

“Why is it hard? Are people jealous?” dad asked.

“Because you hear stuff in magazines and stuff like that,” she said. “People aren’t gonna think twice about like ‘Oh! . . . That is true your dad is this, your mom is that.’ You’re like, ‘Dude! Come on, like talk to me about it before you go off to somebody else.”

It’s no secret David and his ex-wife, Pamela Bach’s, marriage of 16 years ended in a brutal divorce. The couple is now locked in a contentious custody battle for both Hayley and her 17-year-old sister, Taylor Ann.

“Divorces happen everyday but . . .. in his divorce, it is my divorce to because we are all in the family,” Hayley said.

“Do you ever feel, because that does happen, do you feel you have to come to the family’s defense, his defense?” Nancy asked.

“Oh yeah,” Hayley replied. “Me and my sister — if we are in crowds or something and we hear someone say something bad, me and her get so raged! We’re gonna go out there and yell out them. We never do because we are nice people.

“If somebody says something bad about my family we are on game,” Hayley continued. “We are not going to just sit there – especially me. I am not going to sit there and take it. I know who my dad is, I know who my mom is. They are both great people. People do make mistakes, they deal with them and that is how it works you know.”

Wise beyond her years, Hayley is now planning ahead for her own future and her career, starting off as a successful Ford model.

“What advice do you give [to your dad],” Nancy asked.

“To think before you say sometimes,” she said. “Like when you are giving an interview to somebody on the red carpet and you are talking about me or Taylor and you know there is an insecurity to think before you say.

“But he is really good,” she continued. He is a good guy. I don’t think he would ever do anything bad.”

“Like I said before the most important thing is that we are honest with each other,” David chimed in. “She is honest with me and I am honest with her. Sometimes it hurts on both sides and she is right, I get this from my press agent all the time, ‘Shut up! Just walk in, look good, shut up!’”
