‘Once Upon A Time’: New Details On How ‘Frozen’ Is Being Worked Into Season 4

Several characters from the animated box office smash “Frozen” are headed to ABC’s Sunday night series “Once Upon a Time” this fall, and an executive producer of the film has actually visited the set of the TV show.

“[‘Frozen’ EP] John Lasseter himself flew up to Vancouver,” ABC’s Entertainment President Paul Lee told reporters on Tuesday, following the executive panel at the Television Critics Association Summer Tour in Beverly Hills. (“Once” is filmed in Vancouver).

“He’s integrally related to the way we’re doing that,” Lee continued of how “Once,” helmed by EPs Adam Horowitz and Eddy Kitsis, is handling bringing in the newcomers – Elsa (Georgina Haig), Anna (Elizabeth Lail) and Kristoff (Scott Michael Foster).

Lee said the “Once” take on “Frozen” isn’t likely to follow the film.

“Adam and Eddy always have a twist on a story, so you can imagine their twist,” he said. “It’s going to be very different.

“I think it’s the perfect time,” he added of bringing “Frozen” to “Once.” “We’re thrilled with it.”

Earlier in the day, Lee was asked during the executive session about the possibility of a “Once”/”Frozen” spinoff show and he didn’t rule it out.

“Adam and Eddy are endlessly inventive, and so they have glints in their eyes of stories that they can spin for many years to come on ‘Once,’ and maybe beyond it. So it certainly doesn’t rule out my ability or their ability to build beyond ‘Once,'” he said.
