Once Upon A Time’s Lana Parrilla, Ginnifer Goodwin Weigh In On Ariel & Season 2

On Sunday night, “Once Upon A Time” concluded its first season with a bang, and as the march to Season 2 begins, cast members weighed in on the possibility of Ariel (The Little Mermaid) coming to Storybrooke in Season 2.

“I hope she’s an evil siren and joins my team,” Lana Parrilla, who plays Regina/The Evil Queen on the show told Access Hollywood at a Tuesday evening party following ABC’s Upfronts in New York City. “I’m always looking for more evil sirens.”

Ginnifer Goodwin, who plays Snow White/Mary Margaret said she hadn’t heard about Ariel, but could see how the character could be introduced.

“You know more than I do, truly,” Ginnifer laughed with Access. “I thought when we were building a tank for this season — we built this enormous water tank — I thought for sure it was because Ariel was going to make an appearance and it ended up being the Siren.”

Last week, in an interview with AccessHollywood.com about the show’s season finale, series co-creator Edward Kitsis hinted at Ariel making a splash next season.

“I think what we want to do is two-fold. One is we want to continue to deepen the characters that we have and learn more about them… like we did with the Mad Hatter, and we want to continue to introduce new characters as well,” he said.

“We’ve got our eye on a few,” he continued. “Obviously, we’ve said in the past Ariel was one we wanted to get to, whether we get to her sooner than later, we don’t know yet, but we definitely have a fun plan in place for introducing some fun people next year.”
