Oprah Gives Hilary A Swanky New Hairdo

LOS ANGELES, Calif. (November 1, 2007) – Oprah can add celebrity hairstylist to her distinguished resume.

In the name of charity, Oprah Winfrey cut off nine inches of Hilary Swank’s hair.

Hilary will donate her long locks to Pantene’s “Beautiful Lengths” program, which creates wigs for women battling cancer.

Oprah tempted her studio audience with, “It’s taken months to get to this moment,” said the talk show host. “It involves a two-time Academy Award winner, a sharp object, and me.”

Hilary had been planning for this special event for some time.

“I’ve been growing it for the last six months to donate my hair,” Swank says. “I’ve been taking a lot of vitamins and taking really good care of it, knowing that it would go to a woman in need.”

Oprah’s Great American Haircut episode, where she’ll give 100 lucky viewers 100 amazing makeovers in one hour, will air on Friday.
