Oprah Recommended Obama’s Inaugural DJ

President Obama and First lady Michelle Obama did quite a lot of dancing Tuesday night following the Inauguration and one of the people helping to move the President’s feet was a recommendation from Oprah Winfrey.

Cassidy Podell, also known as DJ Cassidy in the dance world, spun the hits for 44th President at Tuesday’s Mid-Atlantic Ball, and was selected after Oprah sang his praises following his performance at the opening of her South African girl’s school, People reported.

Some of the songs he played at Tuesday’s ball included “Signed Sealed Delivered I’m Yours” by Stevie Wonder, “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough” by Marvin Gaye & Tammi Terrell, “Wanna Be Startin’ Something” by Michael Jackson, “We Are Family” by Sister Sledge and “Your Love Keeps Lifting Me Higher” by Jackie Wilson, which DJ Cassidy called, “a true song of hope.”

The Obamas are not the first high profile client for DJ Cassidy, he spun for Beyonce and Jay-Z at their 2008 wedding.
