Orlando Bloom Involved In Hollywood Car Crash

Orlando Bloom was involved in a car crash early Friday morning, the Los Angeles Police Department confirmed to Access Hollywood.

Bloom was driving on Fountain Avenue, a street south of famed Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles, when he noticed what he believed to be paparazzi, driving next to him.

The “Pirates of the Caribbean” star told authorities the other car made a sudden lane change. As a result, Bloom swerved his vehicle and hit two parked cars. The crash occurred sometime around 2:15 a.m.

A rep for the actor released the following statement to Access Hollywood:

“Orlando Bloom, who was in a minor car collision late last night, is grateful that no one was seriously injured. Bloom called for help immediately following the incident. He spent last night at the hospital to be with his childhood friend who sustained a minor neck injury. He is thankful that emergency services arrived so quickly and that the ER staff at Cedars Sinai took such good care of his friend.”

Two women were in the car with Bloom – a 30-year-old in the front seat and a 35-year-old in the back. The younger woman suffered a cut to her neck from her seatbelt. The woman in the back suffered a neck fracture, authorities told Access.

Both women were taken to the hospital.

Authorities told Access that Orlando was not injured.

No arrests were made at the scene and Bloom was not under the influence, an LAPD rep confirmed to Access.
