OutKast’s Andre 3000 Creates New Cartoon

LOS ANGELES (October 31, 2006) — He branched out into movies with “Idlewild,” and now Andre 3000 is taking another step away from OutKast with his first animated series “Class of 3000.”

Andre co-created and produces the series that premieres Friday on the Cartoon Network.

He also voices the lead character, an entertainer who quits at the top of his career to teach music in his hometown of Atlanta.

Andre will compose a new song for each episode, and says “Class of 3000” isn’t just for kids. He says it’s “not so kiddie” because the writers from cartoons like “Futurama” are writing this one too.
