Palin’s 17-Year-Old Pregnant Daughter Sparks ‘View’ Debate

The ladies of “The View” had quite a hot topic on the table during the 12th season premiere of the hit daytime talk show Tuesday.

News that Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin’s 17-year-old unmarried daughter, Bristol Palin, is five months pregnant had the ladies buzzing.

“Any candidate’s children, especially minors, are off limits!” co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck said Tuesday. “I think it’s unfair of people to be diving into her daughter’s life.”

Whoopi countered from the other side of the table, saying teen pregnancy was a subject they had covered before.

“Wait a minute, we did the same thing with Britney Spears’ sister,” Whoopi said referring to Jamie Lynn Spears, who became a first time mom at 17, earlier this year.

Whoopi went on to say that discussing the issue should be allowed, but should not affect Sarah Palin’s bid for the White House.

“I think it’s something we can talk about,” Whoopi said. “I don’t think it has anything to do with whether she should be the Vice President or not.”

The ladies of “The View” weren’t the only ones talking about the Palin pregnancy. Access Hollywood caught up with Jon Voight on Monday at Republican National Convention, who took the news pretty hard.

“I think about the daughter, what she’s going through, all the fear and trauma and the worry. I feel for her, I wanna you know [hug her],” an emotional Jon told Access. “You want to take care of her.”

The McCain/Palin campaign released a statement saying Bristol Palin plans on keeping the baby and will marry the child’s father. The baby is due in December.
