Paris’ CNN Interview Upstaged By A Beatle

Her release from jail may be one of the biggest stories in the country, but tonight, Paris Hilton was upstaged by a legend — former Beatle, Sir Paul McCartney.

Though CNN’s “Larry King Live” is usually a live broadcast with phone ins, Paris’ first post-jail interview was forced into pre-taping mode due to the impending, nearby concert by Sir Paul McCartney, according to a report on Access Hollywood’s affiliate, KNBC Los Angeles.

McCartney, who appeared on Larry King’s show, last night in Las Vegas, is set to perform this evening at Amoeba Music, a record store on Sunset Boulevard, the same street that the CNN building is on. The buildings are just several blocks apart.

Fans started gathering for what was meant to be McCartney’s secret show all week long, sleeping over night on Sunset, waiting for Sir Paul’s arrival.

In particular, streets being closed off around the area to accommodate the massive McCartney crowds was reportedly behind the decision for CNN to conduct the interview early.
