Sure, they’re both camera-craving celebrities, and yes, they’ve both spent time in jail (boasting a handful of mug shots between them), but according to Paris Hilton, there’s a very simple way to discern between herself and Lindsay Lohan – as a homeless woman in Los Angeles recently discovered.
During Wednesday’s episode of Paris Hilton’s latest reality venture, “The World According to Paris,” the heiress was seen handing out plates of food at a local LA homeless shelter – which, she emphasized, is not part of her court-mandated community service, she just “loves to give back” – when a woman in line asked, “Can I have those earrings?”
Paris benevolently obliged, telling the woman, “OK, I’ll give them to you… for Christmas.”
The gracious transaction was proceeding very smoothly until the woman made one atrocious mistake.
“I’m going to give them to my sister, and I’m going to tell [her] that Lindsay gave – Lindsay?” she said, confusing Paris with her former party pal, Lindsay Lohan. “I thought you was supposed to be in rehab!”
“I’m not Lindsay,” Paris laughed, before issuing a sassy voiceover retort. “If I were Lindsay, I’d be stealing the earrings, not giving them away.”
Lindsay is currently under house arrest after pleading no contest to a misdemeanor theft charge for stealing a necklace from a Venice, Calif., jewelry store earlier this year.
