Patricia Clarkson To Lead New Orleans Parade

Two-time Emmy winner Patricia Clarkson will reign as the 2007 celebrity monarch for the Krewe of Orpheus, the extravagant parade group organized by New Orleans native Harry
Connick Jr.

Celebrity monarchs lead Orpheus each year. Past monarchs include Whoopi Goldberg, Glenn Close, Stevie Wonder, Toby Keith, Laurence
Fishburn, Dan Aykroyd, Little Richard, Delta Burke, Travis Tritt and James Brown.

“As our city rebuilds and rediscovers itself, it could not be more fitting that Patricia Clarkson be honored by the Krewe of Orpheus and our city,” said Sonny Borey, the krewe’s captain, in making the announcement last week.

Clarkson, a New Orleans native, will lead 30 floats that will roll Feb. 19. Mardi Gras is Feb. 20.

The 47-year-old actress won two Emmys for HBO’s “Six Feet Under.” She was nominated for an Oscar for 2003’s “Pieces of April.”
