Patrick Swayze’s Widow To Join Kate Gosselin, Elizabeth Edwards At Women’s Conference

Lisa Niemi, the widow of late actor Patrick Swayze, will speak out at a panel on Grief, Healing and Resilience at The Women’s Conference 2009 on Tuesday, a conference rep confirmed to Access Hollywood.

Lisa lost her husband to a long battle with pancreatic cancer on September 14. He was 57. The two were married for 34 years.

Also speaking at the discussion – moderated by California First Lady and conference host Maria Shriver – will be Elizabeth Edwards and Susan Saint James.

John Travolta’s wife, actress Kelly Preston, who lost son Jett earlier this year, was previously slated to join the panel but decided it would be too soon after his tragic death to speak.

“It is with my sincere apologies that I must pull out from speaking at [the] conference. I am sorry, but I truly believed that I could do it,” Kelly previously said in a statement to People. “Otherwise I never would have said that I could. But I am still deeply in the process of healing, and it’s just too soon.”

However, the conference won’t be without star power – reality mom Kate Gosselin will also be in attendance, as will announced speakers Katie Couric, Geena Davis, Alicia Keys, Ashton Kutcher and Olympic star Dara Torres.
