Paul Rudd & Jason Segel Get Bromantic

Paul Rudd and Jason Segel may be the stars of “I Love You, Man,” but according to the comedic duo, the movie is not all romance.

“[In one scene] Lou Ferrigno and I wrestle on the boardwalk and Paul Rudd comes up to my rescue,” Jason explained in an interview with Access Hollywood. “I guess a bystander filmed it with their camera phone and it got posted on YouTube. But the tag was ‘Jason Segal fights Lou Ferrigno — Is This Real?’ Like there’s is a real life scenario where I fight Lou Ferrigno and Paul Rudd comes to my rescue and there’s a full camera crew.”

And in one stomach-turning scene, Jon Favreau winds up on the wrong end of Paul Rudd’s vomit.

“I thought it would’ve been really funny and, and fresh to see real vomit,” Paul said. “You see in movies, whenever somebody throws up, that they had a can of soup in their mouth.”

“And it’s such an appealing offer to the director of ‘Iron Man,’ superstar Jon Favreau, to come to set and have Paul Rudd vomit on him,” Jason added, noting that Jon filmed his scenes the week after the blockbuster opening of the superhero film. “I said to him, ‘You must regret this decision’ and he said, ‘No, it’s actually really nice not to have responsibility and just come and be funny.’”

Still, they admitted the movie, which follows Paul and Jason’s characters undergoing some male bonding, is about friendship – and how hard it can be.

“It’s the opposite of what women are able to do,” Jason joked. “Two strangers are able to go into the ladies bathroom and come out as best friends. Try to make friends with another dude in a bathroom and you will get arrested.”

“I Love You, Man” is due March 20.
