Paula Abdul Ready To ‘Speak From The Heart’ As A One-Time Dancing Judge

Paula Abdul has given her seal of approval to new “X Factor” judges – Britney Spears and Demi Lovato.

“They’re doing a good job,” Paula told Access Hollywood of the two pop stars who took the seats she and Nicole Scherzinger occupied in Season 1.

Paula is actually taking on a new – one night only – judging gig, sitting in on the panel at “Dancing with the Stars: All-Stars” for Week 4.

“I’m so excited,” she said after Tuesday’s elimination show. “I feel like this is a whole family, [an] extended family of mine.”

“American Idol,” Paula’s old show, films on the same lot as “Dancing” (in fact, the two studios are just paces away) and Paula said she has been visiting the ABC show for years.

“[I would] sneak over here during commercial breaks from ‘Idol,’” she said. “I was always sneaking in and I’ve been a fan of this show from the inception. I think it’s just one of those shows [where it shows] the beauty of dance and what it does to the human spirit.”

Paula, who in addition to her pop career, gained fame through her choreography for other artists, including Janet Jackson, said she is ready to judge the couples on the “All-Star” season.

“I was asked to do this and I just said, ‘I’m gonna come on and speak from my heart of what moves me ‘cause they do what they do,’” she said.

“Dancing with the Stars: All-Stars” returns Monday at 8/7c on ABC.
