Paula Abdul Reveals Donna Summer, ZZ Top Connection

On Wednesday night’s “American Idol” finale, the contenders for the title had the honor of taking the stage with rock, pop and R&B royalty. On the red carpet before the show, Access Hollywood found out “Idol” judge Paula Abdul had worked with some of them first.

Abdul called the “American Idol” finale her “homecoming week” because of her relationship with some of the superstar performers of the night, including Donna Summer.

“I choreographed with Donna Summer,” Paula revealed. “And, one of my first jobs was as a back up singer and dancer for Donna Summer. With the full on waitress outfit.”

But Donna Summer, who sang with “Idol’s” Top 6 women on the final show, wasn’t the only star in Paula’s past work catalog who made an appearance on the broadcast. Paula revealed to Access that she also spent time with Texas rockers ZZ Top!

“My fondest memories ever in life were working and choreographing these gentlemen, seriously,” Paula said as she cozied up to the hairy, sunglass wearing three piece. “[They were] the best students I ever had.”
