Peaches Geldof Dies At 25

Peaches Geldof, the wild-child daughter of concert organizer Bob Geldof who worked as a model, a television presenter and a fashion writer and who filled the pages of British tabloids with her late-night antics, has died at age 25.

Her father said in a statement Monday: “Peaches has died. We are beyond pain.”

“She was the wildest, funniest, cleverest, wittiest and the most bonkers of all of us,” he said. “Writing ‘was’ destroys me afresh. What a beautiful child. How is this possible that we will not see her again? How is that bearable?”

There was no immediate word on the cause of her death at her home in Wrotham, Kent, southeast England. Kent police said at this stage “the death is being treated as an unexplained sudden death.”

Peaches was active in the fashion world, a frequent attendee at shows who was photographed just last week at a show in London. She was twice married and leaves behind two sons and her second husband, musician Tom Cohen.

“My beloved wife Peaches was adored by myself and her two sons Astala and Phaedra, and I shall bring them up with their mother in their hearts every day. We shall love her forever,” Cohen said in a statement.

The last tweet Peaches sent on Twitter was on Sunday, when she posted a photograph of herself as a child and her mother with the caption: “Me and my mum.”

Peaches was a young girl when her mother Paula Yates died of a drug overdose in 2000.
