‘Penny Dreadful’: Eva Green Promo (Exclusive)

Access Hollywood has your first look at Showtime’s brand new “Penny Dreadful” promo, featuring Eva Green as Vanessa Ives.

“There is something within us all,” reads the tag line in the clip, featuring the “300: Rise of an Empire” alum.

Created by Oscar nominee John Logan, “Penny Dreadful” stars Timothy Dalton as explorer Sir Malcolm, alongside Eva Green as Vanessa Ives and Josh Hartnett as American Ethan Chandler, as their characters deal with the dangerous and otherworldly souls and creatures living in the shadows.

“She’s kind of a rebel,” Eva told TV reporters at the Television Critics Association Winter Tour earlier this year, hinting at what audiences will see with Vanessa. “It’s such a repressed time, the Victorian times, and so she’s very hungry for life. All her five senses are very much alive, tingling all the time. But it’s in Victorian [times], so it’s always the conflict inside her.”

Vanessa, Sir Malcolm and Ethan. will interact with a host of figures from classic literature, who are being reimagined in “Penny Dreadful,” including Dr. Frankenstein and Dorian Gray.
